GREAT SUPPORT FOR R&D AND INNOVATION FROM AOSB
- NATIONAL INDUSTRY-ORIENTED R&D AND INNOVATION PROJECT COMPETITION AWARDS
AOSB PRESIDENT BEKIR SÜTCÜ:
"R&D AND INNOVATION HAVE BECOME ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT DETERMINANTS OF THE BUSINESS WORLD"
Adana Hacı Sabancı Organized Industrial Zone, which supports change and continuous renewal, encourages R&D and innovation for a livable environment, sustainable economic development and contribution to Turkey's competitive power, awarded the winners of the 4th National Industry-Oriented R&D and Innovation Project Competition. The winners of the competition, which received 144 applications from 57 distinguished universities in Turkey, were awarded 600 thousand TL.
The award ceremony of the competition organized by Adana Hacı Sabancı Organized Industrial Zone Regional Directorate, which has implemented many pioneering projects that contribute to industry, science, entrepreneurship and university-industry cooperation, was held at AOSB Seyhan Hall.
The ceremony hosted by Bekir Sütcü, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AOSB, Ömer Kaya, Deputy Chairman, Yusuf Kara, Member of the Board of Directors, Mustafa Fiden, Member of the Supervisory Board and Ersin Akpınar, Regional Director of AOSB was attended by Güngör Geçer, Deputy Mayor of Adana Metropolitan Municipality, Prof. Dr. Neslihan Boyan, Vice Rector of Çukurova University, Adana Provincial Director of Industry and Technology Remzi Özdoğan, KOSGEB Provincial Director Mehmet Eren Adana Business Women's Association President Berman Mantı, industrialists and other guests attended the event.
In his speech at the opening of the ceremony, Bekir Sütcü, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AOSB, said that as the management of the zone, they not only provide their industrialists with smooth and uninterrupted production opportunities, but also strive to pave the way for them to gain power in world markets with high value-added products, and that this competition is a part of these efforts.
President Sütcü emphasized that with this competition; they continue to take firm steps forward with the aim of bringing new technologies and methods to our industry, spreading the R&D and innovation culture, strengthening university-industry cooperation and initiating new partnerships in R&D and innovation studies.
IMPORTANCE OF R&D AND INNOVATION
Stating that R&D and innovation have become one of the most important determinants of the business world today, Bekir Sütcü said: "The development of new ideas, technologies and processes not only provides competitive advantage, but also contributes greatly to the welfare of societies."
Stating that R&D and innovation is an area where not only large companies but also SMEs and entrepreneurs can be successful, Sütcü said:
"This competition provides a platform to unlock and support this potential. Innovation happens not only in products or services, but also in business models, operations and sustainability. That's why this competition brings together participants from various sectors and offers an environment enriched by different perspectives."
144 APPLICATIONS FROM 57 UNIVERSITIES
Noting that there were a total of 144 applications from 57 different universities for this year's project competition, President Sütcü said, "Today, we are here to encourage not only the winners, but also to encourage each participant and encourage them to discover their potential. To be successful, it is important not only to win, but also to learn from our experiences and improve ourselves."
10 DIFFERENT THEMATIC AREAS, 600 THOUSAND TL PRIZE POOL
Sütcü concluded his speech by wishing success to the participants of the competition, which has a prize pool of 600 thousand TL and where the requests and needs of industrialists were evaluated while determining the thematic areas, as the pioneers of the future:
"The effort and passion you have shown at every stage of the competition will lead you on a bright path not only today but also in the future. In this process, I would like to thank the idea owners who participated in our competition and all academicians and industrialist referees who contributed to the transparent evaluation of the projects after the application process."
After the opening speeches, the winners of the competition were presented with their awards. The contestants, who received their awards from the guests attending the ceremony, also had the opportunity to briefly introduce their projects.
